TRAINING -
Freebird Motorcycle Tours
Why do we ride motorcycles? Why do we
subject ourselves to the vagaries of the
weather when we could be cocooned in
luxury, warmed by heaters or cooled by
air conditioning; soothed by music from
our car radios?
Maybe because we want freedom, enjoyment,
the satisfaction of passing those cars
safely that are standing in the endless
queues on the way to work. Remember those
Bank Holiday traffic jams? Maybe we want
to explore the highways and by-ways, put
a little fun back into our traveling,
extend our horizons and meet other
motorcyclists. |

You took the plunge and
learnt how to ride. Maybe you got the
bike bug again after a long lay off, but
traffic conditions are manic and things
are not quite as you had envisaged. So
what do you do next?
Would you be a better, safer rider and
get more enjoyment from your riding if
you had training from an experienced
teacher? |
|

|
|
| |
The few weeks that you spent
learning to ride, maybe on a Direct
Access Course, only gave you the basic
skills that the D.S.A. required for you
to pass your test, a firm base to build
upon. They didnt iron out the
niggling problems you may still
experience; they didnt really have
time to build your confidence and hone
your survival skills, they only gave you
basic safety awareness. |

Further advanced training
can teach you how to be alert and safer;
maybe less intimidated by man and
machine, more confident and make headway
in the heaviest of traffic. With
smoothness comes progress, with
anticipation and awareness your riding
becomes enjoyable. The technicalities of
riding your motorcycle can be discussed
and any problems addressed.

TRAINING -
One to one
The
cost for one to one tuition is £170
per day, which includes a
comprehensive written report, morning
coffee and afternoon refreshments.
Two day courses including training,
dinner, bed and breakfast £420 (subject

TRAINING - With a
person of similar capability
Where two people share the training day,
the level of training is more relaxed
than on a one to one basis, the cost is
not as prohibitive and the shared
experience brings out humour to say the
least, (nearly always at the expense of
the Instructor!) |
