Surely one of the most
satisfying things about
being a Motorcycle
Instructor must be the
variety each day brings;
never knowing what the
day's training will hold
in store the contact with
the public and helping
them realize their dream
of riding a motorcycle.
Since returning from a
six month double crossing
of Asia, riding through
Russia and Mongolia to
China returning through
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan
Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan,
across the Caspian Sea to
Azerbaijan, Georgia,
Turkey and home via
Europe, it has been hard
to settle back into
'normal life'.
Much
as I love my job there is
a part of me that yearns
for another adventure, a
chance to ride my
motorcycle to places I
only dreamt about a few
years ago.
How old is too old for an
adventure? Age is a state
of mind and while the
spirit is willing and the
body is still able (even
though at 58 some say I
should take up
crocheting!) a plan is
hatching to go and ride a
motorcycle in Vietnam and
Cambodia.
These
diary updates record the
run up to leaving the UK
for Vietnam and the
training that is still
going on at work. My own
dreams and fears - warts
and all!
I hope you will enjoy the
stories and maybe they
will encourage you too,
to reach out beyond your
comfort zone.
